The Cobourg Museum Foundation welcomes you. Whatever needs or curiosities have brought you here, please stay with us for a few moments and explore the connections you can make to the public and private histories of this part of the North Shore of Lake Ontario.

Our mission is to work to increase the knowledge of the fascinating history of this area on the part of visitors and residents alike, and to do so in cooperation with, and in support of, other organizations having complimentary interests.

Battle Reenactment by CDCI West students, Cobourg Waterfront Festival 2008With this objective in mind we are working to create the expertise and facilities needed to effectively display this history. In this regard we are developing this web-site and the Sifton-Cook Heritage Centre in Downtown Cobourg, planned to open in June of 2012.

The Cobourg Museum Foundation is a registered charitable organization that operates for the benefit of the public. It is supported by the membership, private donations, the Town of Cobourg, and financial assistance from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
